Bear recently wrote to me expressing her discomfort at my review of the Kigali Memorial Gardens. Indeed it still remains much on my mind.
During my stay at Byoona Amagana on Lake Bunyonyii, only Californian Pete would watch the Frontline PBS documentary – the Ghosts of Rwanda. This is not for the fainthearted with some horrific footage. The interviews with Madeleine Allbright and her complete dispassion are particularly diabolical. How that woman can sleep soundly beggars belief. Even the inept Kofi Anan shows at least an inkling of regret and remorse.
