In Search for the Snow Leopard

Snow leopards are one of the most beautiful and elusive animals on this planet. Found only in the mountains of South and Central Asia, they number between only 4000 – 7500. They have remained on the “Endangered” list since 1972.

Despite numerous treks in Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan and India (Lahaul, Spiti and Ladakh) I have yet to spot one in its natural terrain, despite my searchings. So I cheated and went to a zoo.

You can support the conservation of these unique felines by checking out www.snowleopard.org
