With the new site for the Diakonos Orphanage in Carrefour still in a state of repair, slowly the facilities are improving for the children and staff.

It is true that part of the site still resembles a building site, but at least there are now two basic shower units with running water and one toilet. The kitchen is basic but usable and there is a TV room where i get a rather surreal opportunity to watch Arsenal versus Barcelona in the Champions League with some of the boys.

It is imperative that the children are safe and secure in their environment, but as yet the outside walls have not been complete. With usual resourcefulness, Jean Luc has added both barbed wire and an electric fence to ward of potential thieves and looters from the site.
