The problem with these extensive hikes is the range of temperatures that are going to be experienced crossing Africa (not least starting off in the middle of winter in South Africa).
Whilst travelling light is the key, i still find this tricky to manage.

You forgot the toilet paper.
ReplyDeletethat robot looks immense! But wouldn't fit into my backpack. Fortunately Windhoek has a whole bunch of toilet paper - may well add in a roll.
