Snow leopards are one of the most beautiful and elusive animals on this planet. Found only in the mountains of South and Central Asia, they number between only 4000 – 7500. They have remained on the “Endangered” list since 1972.
Despite numerous treks in Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan and India (Lahaul, Spiti and Ladakh) I have yet to spot one in its natural terrain, despite my searchings. So I cheated and went to a zoo.
