I have seen and experienced first-hand a wide variety of handshakes on the road across Africa. However, here in Ethiopia i witness a new twist – the shoulder rub.
Clasp your friend firmly by the hand and move your body around to enable you to simultaneously move your right shoulder in to touch your friend’s so the shoulders are rubbing together and heads close. For a top quality friend you can add a left handed hug.
