On Mozambique Roads

Madgie, my friend in Vilankulo explains the terrible road conditions throughout Mozambique.

With it's communist background, many construction and building projects are passed to the People's Republic of China. Their shoddy labour means that the roads are always under a state of disrepair, thus providing much needed local employment. Other construction jobs are also passed to China, including the current redevelopment of the airpor terminal building in Vilankulo which includes a Chinese pagoda.

Chinese script abounds on buses and i even hear a Chinese prerecorded message playing at the bus terminal in Beira.
